Q:I am purchasing some in stock kitchen cabinets from Lowe's for a rental unit that I own. There are 2 cabinets, a base & a wall cabinet that are recessed inside a wall where the opening is 25-3/4" wide. However, the cabinets are 24" wide. How can I reduce the opening so the cabinets will fit snugly on each side to give a finished look? The walls are sheetrock. Thanx. A:Cut filler pieces, same wood as cabinets, and attach to cabinet sides to just fill the extra space. Usually available from the cabinet manufacturer in 3" increments.
